Bridging the Gap in Virginia is a grant funded non-profit organization dedicated to empowering marginalized communities in Richmond, Virginia, and beyond. We offer comprehensive workforce development programs, advocate for environmental justice, promote criminal justice reform, and provide essential mental health, re-entry, and substance abuse recovery services. Mission
Our mission is to empower formerly incarcerated persons, veterans, at-risk youth, substance abusers and those suffering from homelessness. We help these groups of people overcome barriers that hinder their effective transition following military duty, recovery and/or incarceration into mainstream society with positive outlooks towards sustained success. We are driven by a commitment to restorative justice, environmental justice, and sustainability., inclusion, and positive change by empowering marginalized communities, veterans, returning citizens, and underserved individuals in Richmond, Virginia, and beyond. Through our workforce development initiatives and community engagement efforts, we're making strides in environmental justice, social equity, and sustainable futures. Join us in bridging the gap and creating a brighter tomorrow for all.
Vision
Our vision for the future of BTGVA is one where we continue to expand and develop our programs to empower individuals and communities. We aim to provide direct employment opportunities through our solar installation, energy audit training, and energy efficiency conversion initiatives, equipping individuals with sought-after skills in the renewable energy sector. Additionally, we aspire to further expand our Community Garden project, fostering environmental sustainability and addressing food insecurity in underserved areas. Through these efforts, we envision a future where BTGVA remains at the forefront of creating positive change and opportunity for all.
